Celebrate Science Fiction at Kitchener’s first May the 4th Be With You event at THEMUSEUM, hosted by Nerd Nite KW!
Featuring video games, trivia, music, and much more, May the 4th Be With You will be an exciting party where you can celebrate and enjoy your favourite science fiction movies, tv shows, and video games.
Here is what you have to look forward to starting at 7:00pm:
Presentation: “The most iconic science fiction films and why we love them” by Ben Criger (researcher at the Institute for Quantum Computing)
Trivia: Science fiction trivia accommodating to all skill levels (Padawan to Jedi). Trivia prizes provided by Lookin’ For Heroes comic store and Games Exchange!
DJ and music: Get your dance on with a sci-fi themed playlist!
Video Game Alley: Try your hand at piloting an X-Wing, fighting on the forefront of the rebellion, or going on a rampage as a Rancor in Video Game Alley! Numerous science fiction video games will be open for all to play, including retro games like Rogue Squadron as well as new games like Star Wars Kinect.
Starship Bridge Simulator: Jump onto the bridge of the Enterprise with the Starship Bridge Simulator game! Up to 6 people can take over the Helm, Science, Weapons, Comms, or Engineering stations and work as a crew – with one person as Captain to command the ship and give orders.
Special Guest: Canada’s Greatest Know It All winner Andrew Rader, will be there celebrating his birthday. Try to stump Canada’s Greatest Know It All at trivia!
Eats: Sci-fi themed munchies like Gummi Ewoks
Drinks: Cash bar with themed drinks such as Bantha Milk!
Costumes: Costumes are welcomed and encouraged but not mandatory. If you don’t have a costume, sport your favourite nerdy tshirt or just bring a towel and DON’T PANIC!
Tickets are just $15.00 and proceeds go towards supporting your favourite downtown museum. Get your tickets now and May the 4th be with you!
